Designing by Text, not your normal interior design solution.

A few months ago, I got a call from some very good friends wanting some help with their living room.  They had decided to stay in their very nice, very large home (compared to mine, no jealousy here)  and wanted to make it a little more cozy and homelike.  I did a little research on some of the things they mentioned, like 2 sofas in the living room and took some photos of examples that I found online.  Buying 2 new sofas is expensive and I wanted to make sure they were happy with their purchase.  So, 2 sofas ordered.

They have this great little wooden antique chair that they wanted to keep.  I love working with existing things, it must be my frugality.  This chair is super comfy, so we they were wanting some ideas for a second chair for the opposite side of the fireplace.  Here's where we started the design by text.  I did not do their shopping, they did.  They would take a photo of things they liked and text them to me, I would respond with my comments.  Using this method, I didn't have to drag my toddler to many stores, and none of us wasted a bunch of time.  We would have been able to keep the interior designing fees waaaay down and making it affordable.  Their living room is coming along, they are still getting a chair reupholstered and still needing an ottoman.  More photos to come.
